JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Animal activists are celebrating one of the laws that Gov. Rick Scott signed this week.

It makes dogs involved in fighting more adoptable.

Under the new law, dogs confiscated from fighting rings will not automatically be labeled as "dangerous."

The dogs will still be evaluated by shelters to see if they can be adopted into new homes.

Previously, these dogs would be automatically euthanized.

The law takes effect next Friday.
