A 59-year-old Bunnell man was killed in a single-vehicle crash late Thursday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said Archie Edwards was traveling west on state Road 100, one mile south of Bunnell, with no lights on at about 11:20 p.m. Troopers said he was driving about 80 mph in a posted 60 mph speed zone.

Troopers said Edwards' pickup truck crossed the center line and went onto the south shoulder.

Troopers said Edwards overcorrected to his right while driving back onto the roadway. His truck then spun clockwise across the road and onto the north shoulder, troopers said.

The driver's side front struck a ditch embankment, and the truck began to overturn end over end, troopers said.

They said the truck hit two trees and landed on its right side in the ditch.

Troopers said the crash was alcohol-related.
