Keep your parked car cool in summer heat

As the temperatures soar, it can be even hotter in your parked car. Take a look at these tips to help keep your car cool this summer.

  • Leave blankets on the seats while the car is parked. This allows the blankets to soak up the sun and leave the seats protected from direct sunlight.
  • Use a sunshade. These can be spread across the windshield of the parked car. They prevent the sun from getting inside the car and heating it up.
  • Park away from direct sunlight. Finding a spot in the shade or in a garage will prevent any sun from getting inside your car.
  • Leave the windows open. When parking your car on a hot day, crack open the windows to help ventilate the inside of your car.
