At the Jacksonville Landing, plans are under way for a major party on Monday after the Gator Bowl game after a big party on New Year's Eve.

Thousands of people lined on both sides of the St. Johns River Saturday and watched the fireworks show after the clock struck midnight.

There was also a fireworks display at the Jacksonville Beach Pier.

Beyond the New Year's events, the Gator Bowl also has a host of events planned over the holiday weekend.

Saturday schedule included the Gator Bowl 5K and the Hall of Fame luncheon at the Hyatt Hotel.

Nearly 30,000 lined up on Bay Street for the Gator Bowl Parade, which stepped off from the Police Memorial Building, west on Bay Street, south on Newnan, east on Coastline Drive, then north on Liberty Street.

Sunday's big event downtown is the finale of the Jaguars season hosting Indianapolis at EverBank Field. The Gator Bowl is hosting an event for Florida and Ohio State fans in front of Dick's Sporting Goods at the Town Center On New Year's Day.

The Gator Bowl match up between Gators and Buckeyes kicks off at 1 p.m. Monday, with the winning fans likely back at The Landing and filling other watering holes for the evening.
