RECIPE: Linda Weeks' Easy Gingerbread Dough

Gingerbread is the fun thing to make this time of year.


  • 1 box "Spice Cake" mix
  • 3/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoon eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • Raisins for eyes & buttons


  1. Mix ingredients together
  2. Add wet ingredients & stir with sturdy spoon until well blended
  3. Chill covered at least 4 hours or overnight
  4. Roll out between wax paper sheets- 1/4 inch thick
  5. Remove top sheet - cut out shapes
  6. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment
  7. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 7-10 minutes, until center puff up a bit  & sink back
  8. Cool completely
