The 29th Annual Riverside Avondale luminaria is part of the brightest and most cherished holiday tradition in the neighborhood, with caroling, outdoor concerts, bike riding and more.
Begin Sunday evening, Dec. 16, at Riverside Park United Methodist Church, which will have a concert in Riverside Park from 4 to 5:30 p.m. There will be kids' activities, hot chocolate and cookies, and great Christmas music to jump start the holiday season and the community celebration.
Once dusk arrives, let the magic begin as Riverside and Avondale are illuminated with lights and holiday cheer.
Luminaria kits are available for purchase for $6 from Riverside Avondale Preservation beginning Dec. 8, on weekends at Buckland House, 2623 Herschel Street, and Tuesdays through Fridays from RAP's temporary offices, 3 Shircliff Way, Suite 614, in the St. Vincent’s Dillon Building, and at the RAP booth at Riverside Arts Market. Each Saturday. Each kit contains six bags, six candles and sand.
