The cable network A&E announced Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson is off the hit show indefinitely

West Monroe, Louisiana -

The cable network A&E announced late Wednesday that "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson is off the hit show for an as-yet-undetermined period of time.

Entertainment Weekly says the network issued to it the following statement: "We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson's comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series 'Duck Dynasty,'

"His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community."

EW says an A&E spokesperson confirmed that the rest of Robertson's family will continue on the reality series.
