Holiday Do's for your feet

It's holiday season – the time of the year when most people are on their feet more often than any other time of the year.

Holiday Foot Do's:
--Leave the heels at home and wear comfortable shoes. Walking or running shoes are most preferable to help increase comfort and prevent ankle and foot pain then wearing heels.
--Wear cotton-based socks to absorb moisture and keep your feet dry. This prevents blisters and adds to the support on your feet.
--Make trips to your car to lighten the load of your shopping bags
--Try not to slouch as your weight is shifted forward. Keeping a straight back and tight core will prevent this.
--When shopping, ask if you can leave your bags with the store if you are needing to shop around more.
--Make sure you have a meal or snack, stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and elevate your feet to help reduce swelling during your break.
--After a long, shopping day on your feet be sure to stretch and flex your toes with at a comfort level. Soak your feet in a warm Epsom salt bath for soothing relief.
