Report: Broadway star Elaine Stritch dies

Broadway and TV star Elaine Stritch died Thursday at her home in Birmingham, Michigan, The New York Times reported. She was 89.

Her death was confirmed by a friend.

Born Feb. 2, 1925, Stritch's career began in the 1940s, spanning the stage, film and television.

She continued working well into her 80s, voicing the role of "Grandma" in "ParaNorman," and had a recurring role on "30 Rock."
