Three teens who were skipping school ended up saving a 94-year-old woman from a house fire.

Garen Kissoyan, Peter Kravariotis and Kirill Yantikov are seniors at a high school in San Ramon, Calif. The three friends were cutting class at 10 a.m. on Monday when they saw smoke billowing out of the back of a house, according to NBC Bay Area. They saw a woman in the garage, who told them that her elderly mother was trapped inside the home. The teens ran inside and discovered the woman sitting in a chair, covered in soot. She was clearly suffering from burns.

"The only thing she said to us was 'I'm on fire,' and it was kind of shocking to me to hear that," said Kravariotis.

Firefighters eventually arrived on scene and extinguished the fire and investigators are still looking into the cause.

The elderly woman is in critical condition in a burn center in San Francisco.
