JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A Jacksonville man has serious injuries after a crash near Huguenot Memorial Park on Sunday, according to the Florida highway Patrol.

FHP said a Jeep Wrangler driven by Donald R. Smith, 47, of Jacksonville, was traveling north on Heckscher drive when it lost control coming around a curve, causing it to travel off the right side of the roadway where it struck a sign support pole.

The Wrangler then traveled back onto the roadway and into the southbound
lane, striking a Ford F-250 driven by Angel Colon.

The Wrangler then overturned into the woods, ejecting Smith, who was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with serious injuries. Colon and his passenger Marie Colon suffered minor injuries.
