1 hurt in early morning Hastings house fire

SJCFR: 1 person treated for smoke inhalation, transported to hospital

HASTINGS, Fla. – St. Johns County Fire Rescue is investigating the cause of a fire to a home in Hastings early Monday morning.

Crews from SJCFR Station 8 arrived at 12:21 a.m. to find flames shooting from the roof of the single-family home on East Carter Street, north of State Road 207 in Hastings.

The fire was extinguished quickly and crews were sifting through the remains looking for any hot spots and items to salvage for the residents, according to SJCFR.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation and transported to Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine.

Representatives from the American Red Cross arrived on scene and assisted three adults who were displaced by the fire, according to SJCFR.

There is no additional information regarding the condition of the injured resident.

The fire is under investigation.
