1 killed in wreck on MLK Parkway

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 75-year-old passenger in a pickup truck was killed Wednesday night when when the driver turned in front of traffic on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say Mary Huffman, 49, was driving a Chevrolet S-10 east and attempted to turn left onto Moncrief Road and failed to notice a westbound Jeep Wranger, which struck the right side of the pickup.

Passenger Leonard Jones, of Jacksonville, was transported to UF Health Jacksonville, where he died.

The driver, along with two teenagers in the SUV, received minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
