Driver of fire engine cited for failure to use due care

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of a fire engine was to blame for a crash on Beach Boulevard that resulted in one minor injury Saturday afternoon.

Troopers say Thomas Harmon was driving the fire engine west near Spring Glen Road about 5:15 p.m. when he failed to stop for traffic in front of him and crashed into the back of an SUV. That vehicle was pushed forward into a van.
