The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, Fire Rescue and hazardous materials team are investigating a possible meth lab found early Thursday morning at the Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Deputies were called to the hotel at 1000 PGA Tour Boulevard at 2:15 p.m. about a possible credit card fraud. Detectives found what they believed to be a meth lab in the hotel room of the two suspects and called Fire-Rescue.
The St. Johns County hazardous materials team suits up to center the room.
Public Information Officer Matthew Sara with St. Johns County Fire Rescue said four rooms were evacuated and no one was hurt in the incident.
The meth lab being investigated a "one pot," something he said could easily be carried in a backpack, according to Sgt. Chuck Mulligan.
The Sheriff's Office said the hazmat team would dismantle the meth lab, safely ventilate the room and make sure there are no other issues over the next few of hours.
"We're hopeful that within the next couple of hours, we can resolve our side of this and be off the property," Mulligan said.
