JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Hubbard House's 18th Annual Barbara Ann Campbell Memorial Breakfast was held Thursday morning.

The event is held each year to honor the life of Campbell, the sister-in-law of former Jacksonville Mayor Jake Godbold. Campbell died when her husband of 38 years killed her in 1995.

Hubbard House is a local organization fighting domestic violence. It provides a safe haven and counseling for those victims, and has served more than 5,500 individuals.

The breakfast, which was held at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront downtown, also honors those who've faced similar tragedy and the survivors who have overcome domestic violence.
