18-year-old shot in head on bike dies

Shooter still sought by police

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An 18-year-old man shot in the head while riding a bike last week has died.

Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office called at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday to Spires Avenue, near Fairfax Street in the Moncrief Park area, found Darryl Arnold with a gunshot wound.

Arnold was taken to UF Health Jacksonville in critical condition. Police said Tuesday he died.

Police are searching for the shooter.

A second person was with the teen when he was shot, but that person was not injured, according to police. Officers talked with him to determine what he knows and what he saw.
