School bus accident Police say the car turned in front of the bus and the bus hit it. The driver had to be cut from the car.

"For some unknown reason, the driver of the vehicle headed north, made a left-hand turn in front of the school bus, and the front of the school bus struck the front of the vehicle, causing major damage," JSO Sgt. Rick Hike said.

Channel 4's Melanie Lawson reported the Students of America bus was carrying students to Mandarin High School. A backup bus arrived to take the non-injured students to school.

Both southbound lanes of Powers Avenue were closed after the crash. One lane reopened within the hour and the scene was cleared before 9 a.m.
