ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -

A 56-year-old woman is in critical condition and a 64-year-old man suffered serious injuries after a tire blew out on their motorcycle on Interstate 95 in northern St. Johns County on Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said Patrick and Yvonne Potrzuski, both of Jacksonville, were riding south in the middle lane of I-95, just north of County Road 210, about 10:30 a.m.

The tire blowout caused Patrick Potrzuski to lose control. Troopers said the couple fell onto the road. Neither was wearing a helmet.

They were both taken by air ambulance to UF Health Jacksonville.

I-95 was closed for about 20 minutes and traffic was delayed.
