2 inmates die in custody in Baker County

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Corrections and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement have started criminal investigations into the circumstances related to the deaths of two inmates who died in custody in Baker County.

According to officials with the Florida Department of Corrections, Antonio Gallashaw was incarcerated at the Baker County Correctional Institution when he died, and his death is being investigated as a criminal case by the inspector general's office of the Florida DOC.

FDLE, along with help from the Florida DOC, is investigating the death of Denis Robinson, who was being held at the Baker Re-Entry Center.

The Medical Examiner's Office still has to determine the causes of death in both cases, but both FDLE and the Florida DOC have said that they, "Are employing all available resources to ensure that a thorough investigation is completed."
