2 men shot, killed in Northwest Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Two men were shot and killed outside a nightclub in Northwest Jacksonville Friday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Detectives with JSO homicide responded to the Island Breeze Restaurant and Lounge at the intersection of Palmdale Street and Lem Turner Road around 9:30 p.m.

Sgt. Shawn Coarsey with JSO said officers found a car that had been shot at with several rounds and discovered a man lying in the passenger seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was transported to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Coarsey said another man was found dead about 40 yards away from the car, also appearing to have been shot multiple times. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coarsey said officers are in the process of interviewing witnesses who may have seen the shooting.

Coarsey added that there are no suspects at this time.
