ORLANDO, Fla. -

Two people are dead following house fires near Bradenton and in Orlando.

Both fires happened early Friday morning and neither victim has been identified.

Orlando police say paramedics spotted the blaze, entered the house and tried to rescue a man inside, but the house started to collapse and they lost verbal contact with the victim.

An elderly man was later found dead in a back room of the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Near Bradenton, fire crews were told someone remained inside a burning home in Cedar Hammock. Crews simultaneously searched for the victim while trying to put out the fire. They found the victim dead in a bedroom where the fire apparently started.

The fire caused $75,000 in damage and is under investigation.
