People who saying through a downpour at the Moosehaven reitrement community in Orange Park were rewarded with fireworks.
The fireworks display, scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m., actually began more than 15 minutes early.
Before the Orange Park display ended, the show at Jacksonville Beach kicked off.
After not having fireworks at the beach last year, the return of the display brought out a large crowd.
The Jax Beach display lasted until almost 9:30 p.m.
In St. Augustine, Fireworks over the Matanzas is always a draw on the Fourth of July.
Attention then turned to downtown Jacksonville, where people who had taken cover during an earlier downpour, began to come out and line both sides of the St. Johns River.
Right on time, the rockets fired and the skies over downtown lit up.
Those who stayed for the show were rewarded by a 15-minute show with 2,500 pounds of fireworks imported from Spain and China exploding in honor of America's birthday.
