21-year-old woman killed in early Saturday crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 21-year-old Jacksonville woman died early Saturday morning after her car was rear-ended on Interstate 295.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Linda Baker was heading north between San Jose Boulevard and Old St. Augustine Road about 12:30 a.m. when her Toyota Cressida was rear-ended by a Mazda 3 driven by Aaron Dottson-Pruett, 23.  The impact caused Baker to lose control and her car went off the shoulder of the highway and struck a pole.

Troopers say Baker died at the scene.  Dottson-Pruett was taken to Baptist South Medical Center with minor injuries.

The FHP report says both drivers were being investigated for alcohol consumption and charges are pending.
