JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A second-grade teacher at W.E. Cherry Elementary School in Orange Park who police interrupted while she was having sex with a teenage boy in a parked car on the Westside has pleaded guilty.

Kimberly Brody, 40, pleaded guilty last month to unlawful sexual activity on a victim 16 or 17 years old. The incident happened in January.

Brody was sentenced to a year in prison, followed by three years of probation as a registered sex offender.

In addition, Brody was ordered to undergo psychosexual counseling, have no contact with the victim, have no unsupervised contact with children younger than 18, and not to live within 1,000 feet of any place where children congregate.

According to a police report, the boy was naked and Brody was half-naked when officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in a cul-de-sac in the 7300 block of Westland Oaks Drive.

Brody resigned from the school.
