Three teens made their first appearance in court Monday morning in a drive-by shooting of two men.

Keila Smith, 18, Marquise Roberts, 18, and Calvin Bolden, 19, were arrested Sunday and charged with armed robbery.

Roberts was also charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription. Bolden was also charged with aggravated battery and possession of cannabis.

And Smith was also charged with child neglect because deputies said there was a toddler in the back seat of the suspects' vehicle, as well as possession of cannabis.

Two men were shot while standing outside the Blanding Place Apartments in Orange Park about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Clay County deputies said.

Investigators said the three suspects in a white sedan drove by the two victims, and Smith, who was driving, and one of the two other suspects fired a handgun at the two victims, striking both of them, one in the chest and one in the arm.

The victims were taken to Orange Park Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said Sunday they didn't know how or if the suspects and victims knew each other.

After the shooting, the suspects fled the area, deputies said. Based on the vehicle description from witnesses, deputies were able to find the suspects and make a traffic stop at the 7-Eleven gas station at the intersection of Constitution Drive and Blanding Boulevard.

Smith was taken into custody and the two other suspects fled on foot, deputies said. One was apprehended after a brief foot chase, and the other fled into his own apartment at Blanding Place Apartments, deputies said. Negotiators said they were able to talk him into surrendering, and he was taken into custody.

Deputies said they found a 2-year-old child in a car seat in the suspect vehicle unharmed.

The weapon used in the shooting was located in the suspect vehicle, deputies said.
