ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. -

Developers in Atlantic Beach are moving forward with a million dollar project-- slated to bring 178 brand new homes, a new golf course and a clubhouse.

Demolition on the clubhouse at the former Selva Marina Country Club started Wednesday and should be finished up by the weekend.

The new name will be Atlantic Beach Country Club.

The clubhouse will be 12,000 square feet and sit alongside a junior Olympic-size swimming pool.

The golf course is also getting redesigned.

Atlantic Beach Partners bought Selva Marina $4.3 million.

The country club closed last year after 55 years.

Atlantic Beach Country Club is expected to open in late 2014.
