6 arrested in St. Augustine Beach drug home

ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. – Six people were arrested in a drug house Thursday morning in St. Augustine Beach, according to the Police Department.

Investigators served a search warrant at the home in the 100 block of A Street just after 5 a.m. They said after numerous complaints and an extensive investigation, officers determined there was possible drug activity occurring in the home.

Investigators said they found drugs and paraphernalia associated with drug sales and use inside the home.

Officers arrested Kevin Toohey, 22, of Lutz, Justin Harshman, 25, of Jacksonville Beach, Jason Phillips, 38, of St. Augustine Beach, Mark Hernandez, 20, St. Augustine Beach, Christian Comeau, 22, of St. Augustine, and a sixth person (whose record was expunged) for varying charges related to drug possession. All six suspects were transported to the St. Johns County jail without incident.

Investigators deemed the home to be a "public nuisance" and an established drug dwelling. They said the investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
