LAKE CITY, Fla. -

Police in Lake City are investigating after eight vehicles were burglarized at an auto shop.

Police said burglars broke into the cars at Rountree-Moore Ford at its Body and Fender Shop in the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 90 West to steal the car stereos.

The burglaries were reported about 10 a.m. Thursday. Police said they happened between Nov. 16 and Thursday.

They said the burglars parked a vehicle at a nearby business and cut a hole in the chain-link fence to gain entry into the business grounds.

The eight burglarized vehicles were privately owned and left at the shop for repairs. All of the vehicle owners have been notified of the thefts. No other items were reported stolen.

If anyone has any information or saw anything suspicious in the area during the time frame, call Investigator Mitchell Cline at 386-752-4344 or the TIP Line at 386-719-2068.
