More than 850 marijuana plants valued at about $850,000 were removed from an outdoor grow operation Thursday afternoon in Crescent City.
Putnam County deputies and Crescent City police went to an area near West Grand Rondo Road about 3:30 p.m. and found the mature plants.
The marijuana plants had an average height of 4 feet and an estimated value of $1,000 each.
All of the marijuana plants were collected and an investigation is continuing, deputies said.
"Due to the efforts of our deputies and officers with the Crescent City Police Department, we removed over $800,000 worth of illegal marijuana from our county," Sheriff Jeff Hardy said in a news release. "I commend all who were involved."
