It is with deep sadness that we announce a tragic accident has occurred on the Bolles Middle School Bartram Campus on the afternoon of September 5. Ryan Perry, a Whitehurst Campus fifth grade student, suffered a fatal injury while playing on a ropes course intended for team building near the athletic fields.

A Bolles faculty member, who is trained in and teaches CPR, as well as a parent, who is a doctor, both immediately administered CPR on the child until being relieved by emergency personnel. Ryan was then taken by ambulance to Baptist Medical Center.

Many families may want to have as normal of a school day as possible for their child, therefore, the school will remain open tomorrow and provide counselors for student and faculty support. However, many families may choose to stay home with their children to spend time with them and use their own counselors.

We know our wonderful Bolles community will embrace this family with their support and prayers during this time of loss.

Because of the importance of family at this time, we will reschedule the Middle School Parent Night and the Lower Schools Picnic until a later date.

The school will provide information for memorial arrangements when available.
