JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office bomb squad detonated a suspicious device found by a maintenance man at a Southside apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.

The bomb squad was called to Park South at Deerwood in the 7900 block of Southside Boulevard just before 1 p.m.

Residents were evacuated while the device was rendered safe.

No explosives were found and no one was hurt.

This marked the second day in a row the bomb squad was called to a scene. It detonated a grenade a man found while raking his yard in San Marco on Monday.
