Brunswick man shot in car dies at hospital

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 40-year-old man with gunshot wounds who arrived at the emergency room at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center early Tuesday morning died, and Glynn County police are investigating who fired the shots.

Police say Peter James Alston, of Brunswick, showed up at the emergency room just after midnight. Doctors pronounced him dead at 12:49 a.m.

Investigators determined Alston was shot more than once inside a vehicle in the 2200 block of Cate Street. Police have not recovered the weapon or know who fired the shots.
