CAMP BLANDING, Fla. -

A wildfire that started Thursday on Camp Blanding grew outside the containment area Friday, according to the Florida Forest Service.

A spokeswoman said fire crews were conducting burnout operations to hold the fire on the impact range property. Once the burning is complete, the fire size will be around 700 acres, she said. It was 150 acres Thursday night.

The fire is located two miles north of State Road 21 near Varnes Lake. It was on the impact range at Camp Blanding, which is inaccessible to heavy equipment do to the live ammunition that may be present, the spokeswoman said.

There are no structures in danger.

Northwest winds may cause smoke to drift toward State Road 21, and drivers are urged to use caution in the area.
