Carjacker fires shots at Seminole County deputies after shooting man

Seminole County authorities search for a gunman who shot a man and fired at deputies.

CASSELBERRY, Fla. -

Authorities in Seminole County are searching for a gunman who fired shots at deputies after shooting a man during a carjacking.

The carjacking occurred around 1:30 a.m. as a 52-year-old man and his 22-year-old son were getting out of their car at a home on Dewdrop Cove in Casselberry.  The father was shot in the leg during the carjacking and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

Seminole County deputies said the stolen car was spotted near Newbury Avenue in Altamonte Springs, and the gunman ran off and fired shots at deputies.

No deputies were injured.

An extensive search for the gunman failed to locate the gunman.

A detailed description of the man was not known.
