GAINESVILLE, Fla. -

A 42-year old woman traveled more than 800 miles from her home in New Jersey to Florida to have sex with a teen she met online according to police.

Authorities say Lisa Silva met with a 16-year-old boy while playing the game YoVille through her Facebook account more than a year ago.

Police said the online meeting led to numerous phone calls, text messages and emails.

The teen and Silva, from Carteret, New Jersey, met in person on three occasions, and allegedly ended up having sex on two of those meetings.

An arrest report said the sexual encounters took place in Dec. 2011 and Feb. 2012 when Silva traveled more than 800 miles from her home to Gainesville, Fla.

It is thought the parents of the boy tipped off police about the illegal sexual encounters.

Gainesville police spokesman Ben Tobias said Silva's occupation is listed as cheer coach.

The teen made a detailed statement about his affair with Silva on Dec. 12 last year.

An arrest warrant was issued for Silva on Feb. 7 and she was held by her local police after they conducted a traffic stop for suspected drunk driving.

Police said the vehicle then took a longer amount of time than normal to begin moving again once the traffic light turned green.

Carteret police entered the license plate into a police mobile digital terminal and the officer received an alert on the terminal of a warrant for sexual assault for the registered owner.

After the officer confirmed Silva as the driver of the vehicle, she was arrested and taken to Carteret Police headquarters.

Officials from Alachua County, Florida said they would extradite Silva after being told of her arrest.

Silva was taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick.

She was released from the county jail.

Silva is reported to have admitted travelling to Gainesville, but has denied having sex with the teen.

She's been charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor and traveling to meet minor for unlawful sexual contact.
