JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -

Police say what a witness reported as a possible abduction early Thursday morning in Jacksonville Beach turned out to be a young woman arguing with her mother and fighting to get out of her car.  Both are accounted for and there never was an abduction, according to Jacksonville Beach Police Sgt. Tommy Crumley.

What police described as witness said she saw two men pulling a young white woman into the vehicle. The woman, late teens or early 20s, was heard calling for help as she was being forced into the passenger side of the vehicle just after 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of 8th Street North and First Avenue North.

Just after 11 a.m., police canceled the alert, saying the mother took the girl's cell phone away from her and they got into an argument. When the daughter tried to get out of the car, her mother pulled her back in the car.
