Terrance Anthony Hightower
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Attorneys say a man was sentenced Friday morning to two life terms without the possibility of parole for his involvement in a 2009 robbery.

Officials said Terrence Hightower, 34, was convicted in January on two counts of armed robbery.

In April 2009, authorities say Hightower held up a man and a woman walking to their car on Margaret Street. He approached the couple, pointed a handgun and demanded their purse and wallet, authorities said.

Hightower then fled from the area.

Six days after the crime, authorities say the female victim was contacted by police in New Jersey. Hightower was under arrest there for a robbery.

New Jersey officers said they found the Jacksonville woman's purse and driver's license in Hightower's car at the time of the arrest.

Attorneys said Hightower is a habitual felony offender with two burglary convictions out of Volusia County. Authorities said Hightower is also a prison release re-offender, having committed the armed robbery within three years of being released from prison.
