PALM COAST, Fla. -

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office is hoping the public can assist in identifying a would-be robber in a failed robbery attempt Wednesday at a Palm Coast gas station.

Deputies responded to a Mobil Station at 220 Palm Coast Parkway just after 5 a.m. Thursday after a clerk reported a man tried to rob her.

The victim said the white man entered the store with his shirt covering his lower face and his right arm under his shirt. He then demanded money and implied he had a gun, deputies said. At one point, the man threatened with the woman by saying, "Don't make me use it," deputies said.

When the clerk refused to hand over any money, the man left the store, walking behind the building toward the northeast side of the store, deputies said.

The would-be robber is described as being about 6 feet tall with a medium build and brown hair. He was wearing light colored cargo shorts, a gray T-shirt, black glasses and black slider sandals. He may have a tattoo on his outer right calf and a scar on his forehead near his hairline.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Flagler County Sheriff's Office at 386-313-4911.
