JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A 21-year-old Jacksonville man pleaded guilty last week to two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to two life terms.

The sentences for Jamey Edgington run consecutively with each other and with another life sentence he received in a separate shooting.

Edgington shot and killed Ananias Brevard and Bruce Lamar Clark in the early morning hours of Feb. 2, 2011, after a brief verbal argument.

"The guilty pleas in this case assure that Jamey Edgington will never again walk this earth as a free man," said Assistant State Attorney John Guy.

Edgington was convicted in September and sentenced to life in prison for a March 2011 shooting at Blanding Billiards. In that case, Edgington shot at and then tried to run over a man he had a verbal dispute with inside the pool hall.

Edgington's other criminal history includes a 2008 conviction for carjacking.
