JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police say the driver of a minivan took a turn too quickly on the Westside on Sunday morning, losing control of the van which plunged 80 feet into a pond.

Police say the driver swam to safety and was transported to Orange Park Medical Center to be checked out, but was expected to be fine.  The person's name was not released.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Dive Team along with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue were dispatched to Argyle Forest Boulevard and Old Middleburg Road after reports of an accident.

Police divers recovered the vehicle from the pond.
