Fire damages Southside mobile home

Mobile home fire
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Fire damaged a Southside mobile home Thursday afternoon.

Jacksonville Fire-Rescue was called to the fire in the 4400 block of Anson Place North about 2:30 p.m.

The fire put out a lot of smoke, which could be seen from the St. Johns Town Center.

Firefighters said there were heavy flames showing when they first arrived, but they were able to extinguish the fire soon after.

Firefighters said no one was home at the time, except a dog, which escaped unharmed.

They said the home is a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
