Firefighters battle fire at motel in Folkston

FOLKSTON, Ga. -

The Charlton County Fire Department battled a large fire that broke out Thursday evening at the Relax Inn, a motel in Folkston.

According to Chief David Kirton with the fire department, the fire broke was reported at the motel at 3436 2nd Street just after 7 p.m.

Officials said about 18 or 20 rooms at the motel were completely destroyed by the fire. Kirton said no one was injured.

The Camden County Fire Department assisted fighting the fire. The state fire marshal was to begin its investigation into the cause of the fire Friday morning.
