JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A recall alert has been issued for Gerber Good Start Gentle powdered infant formula.

It comes in a plastic package weighing just more than 23 ounces.

The batch number is GXP 1684. The expiration date is March 5 of next year.

Some people have complained the formula doesn't smell quite right, and in some cases people are reporting that their babies were spitting up or having tummy trouble after drinking it.

Gerber says the product poses no health or safety risk, but it says parents should stop using it.

If you have this formula that matches the batch code and expiration date, call 1-800-487-7763. Gerber says it will give you a free replacement.

It wants parents to know that no other Gerber or Gerber Good Start products are affected.
