VIDEO: An emotional goodbye to an honor student and drum major who was killed when a mini van crashed into her bedroom while she was sleeping.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

On August 28, the Jackson's lives were turned upside down, when police say a van ran a stop sign and crashed into JaNay's Jackson's bedroom, killing her.

Friends and family say JaNay touched many lives.

Hundreds gathered Saturday for a funeral service at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home to remember the 17-year-old student.

The Wolfson High School drum major was ranked third in her senior class, and dreamed of becoming a nurse practitioner.

JaNay Jackson Family spoke of her beauty inside and out, and her strong faith.

JaNay's body was laid to rest at the Greenlawn Cemetery.

Police say the driver, Ismet Sijamhodzic, ran a stop sign, and crashed into the bedroom of her Southside home.

So far no charges have been filed against the Sijamhodzic. Police are waiting for toxicology reports.
