They're hitting the streets to support the Special Olympics.

On Wednesday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office hosted a leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Members of JSO, along with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies from across the area took part in the run, which ended at the Jacksonville Landing.

Special Olympics athletes were also there taking part.

The run brings the "Flame of Hope" to the opening ceremonies of local Special Olympics competition.

The run is also part of a fundraising effort for the Special Olympics.

Last year, JSO raised more than $8,000.
