A Jacksonville man was killed in a car crash in Brevard County Monday evening, according to the Florida Highway patrol.

James Miller, 59, was traveling Southbound in the outside lane on Interstate 95 near mile marker 160 in Brevard County around 5:50 p.m.

For unknown reasons, Miller failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway and left the roadway to the right, according to FHP.

The vehicle he was in subsequently collided with a crash attenuator at the end of a concrete guardrail on the west shoulder.

The crash remains under investigation.
