JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Some of the biggest philanthropists in Jacksonville have come together to help one local community grow.

On Monday, Wayne and Delores Weaver, along with Ann and David Hicks, donated $1 million to Habitat for Humanity.

The money will help support revitalization efforts of the historic neighborhood of New Town.

Over the next four years, HabiJax plans to build 100 brand new homes in the area and offer home buyers an interest-free mortgage.

New Town is located near Northwest Jacksonville, off Myrtle Avenue and Moncrief Road.
