HAMILTON COUNTY, Fla. -

A crash in Hamilton County on Saturday night claimed the life of a Macclenny woman.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Courtney Brook Treece, 20, from Macclenny, was the passenger in an Polaris Ranger driven by her husband, James Allen Treece, 21, also from Macclenny, just after 9 p.m. when the ATV made a left turn on SE 62nd Drive.  Troopers said the driver over-corrected, causing his wife to fall out and strike her head on the roadway.

Police say Courtney Treece was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and it is not determined if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
