MIAMI, Fla. -

A man accused of abusing children at a group home in Haiti will be in court Tuesday.

Matthew Andrew Carter, from Brighton, Michigan, first took the stand on February 22nd. He will continue his testimony Tuesday in Miami federal court.

Carter has been in custody since he was arrested for abuse at Miami International Airport in 2011. He was in charge of a the Morning Star Center for poor children in Haiti from 1995 until 2011.

Two Haitian men testified that Carter forced them to perform sexual acts on him when they were children in the home. Carter's attorneys claimed that the children lived at the home with parental consent and were free to leave at any time.

The Haitian government shut down the center after Carter's arrest.
